Welcome,
You probably already know that gum disease or gingivitis is serious. Gum disease could cause a person to lose his teeth and may be linked to more serious conditions like heart disease.
You might already know that something needs to be done beyond regular brushing and flossing. (which you still need to do)
Don't worry, you are definitely not alone. Professionals estimate that as many as 80% of adults suffer from some form of gum disease. And it has been found in children as young as six-years old. I have also been the victim of gum disease.
Make no mistake, gum disease is not going to disappear on its own. You do have to take action. The actions required to fight gum disease are not hard or difficult.
The short version of my story:
I was shocked one day to hear from my dentist of nine years that I had gum disease and that they needed to do a root scaling and planing or they wouldn't be responsible for what might happen.
At first, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How did this happen? Was this an overnight occurrence? How did things get so bad so quickly?
They even wanted me to sign a paper that it wasn't their fault if I lost my teeth. I was devastated - and bewildered. (Gum Disease is the #1 cause of tooth loss).
They wanted to start right away.
I didn't like the sound of that. So I declined and decided to do some serious research instead. I wanted a better answer.
I wanted an answer that made sense to me and that wasn't going to cause further trauma in my life. You and I both already suffer enough from so many of life's circumstances. Why add anymore?
I researched gum disease until I was confident that I understood what it was all about.
Then I experimented a bit and found some home care solutions that worked for me.
The next time I went back to the dentist, she and the hygienist were AMAZED due to the fact that my gums were returning to their naturally healthy state.
They agreed with each other that I no longer needed the root scaling and planing treatment they had previously wanted to do. The hygienist actually said, "There is no longer any tartar build up under the gumline; there is no bleeding during probing".
I was ecstatic to say the least.
Yet, I didn't want to stop at my own personal success. I know there are people just like you and me out there suffering from this silent epidemic. ...
